🇦🇺 On Australian Soil

Capture, registration, and 3DGS reconstruction all run on our own workstation — never an offshore server, never a third-party cloud processor.

Built for Gov & Defence

We already process sensitive capture data for police and government clients — this service runs to the same data-residency standard by default, for every job.

ISO-Backed Process Control

Run under AECT's ISO 9001 quality-managed process — the same discipline behind our hardware and HSEQ consulting lines.

CAPABILITIES & CAPTURE REQUIREMENTS

Every Processing Add-On, Explained

What each add-on does — and what your capture needs to look like for it to work. Requirements follow the XGRIDS LCC capture standard.

XGRIDS scanners only for now — Lixel K1, K2, L2 Pro and PortalCam. Point-cloud processing for other sources is coming; register your interest and we'll let you know.

HD Enhancement

Fuse extra high-resolution phone or DSLR photos into specific areas of the reconstruction — sharper detail exactly where it matters (signage, panels, feature finishes) without reprocessing the whole scene.

Capture requirements

  • Sharp, well-exposed stills of the target area (phone or DSLR)
  • Photos overlap the scanned geometry — the software needs common features to register them

Aerial-Only Reconstruction

Drone-only 3DGS reconstruction from up to 10,000 photos — full-site splats for large outdoor areas where ground capture alone can’t cover the extent.

Capture requirements

  • Oblique capture at a GSD of 1–1.5 cm/pixel or finer
  • Flight altitude no higher than 50 m AGL
  • Front and side overlap of 80–85% or greater

Aerial-Ground Fusion

Merge drone aerial capture with ground-level scans into one seamless model — walk through the interior, then pull back to see it sitting in the wider site. Captured to the XGRIDS LCC fusion standard across three datasets:

Capture requirements

  • Aerial oblique photogrammetry — RTK drone only, flown to the Aerial-Only spec above (≤50 m, 1–1.5 cm GSD, 80–85%+ overlap)
  • Ground scan data — Lixel K1 / K2 / L2 Pro with RTK enabled (K2 has RTK built in; K1 and L2 Pro need the RTK kit fitted)
  • PortalCam — captured strictly to LCC requirements: control points placed and marked per the LCC spec, plus photos of the control points at take-off and landing

First time capturing for fusion? We offer paid capture consulting and hands-on training so the dataset comes back fusable on the first attempt. Capture training →

Gaussian Splatting Fusion

Multiple separate 3DGS captures stitched into a single coherent scene — for multi-session or multi-device jobs that need one unified deliverable.

Capture requirements

  • Lixel K1 / K2 / L2 Pro captures — RTK enabled on every session
  • PortalCam captures — strictly to LCC capture requirements, with control points added

Map Fusion

Registration and merging of multiple point-cloud scans into one consistent dataset, correcting drift across sessions.

Capture requirements

  • Overlapping coverage between sessions so the scans can be registered to one another
  • RTK-enabled sessions strongly recommended for absolute georeferencing

Point Cloud Processing (own line)

A separate processing line for raw XGRIDS LiDAR captures — priced on its own or alongside a 3DGS model from the same walk. Three levels: Register & Export (SLAM + registration, LAS/E57) · Clean & Colourise (+ denoise, cleanup, colourisation, RCP) · Classify & QA (+ ground/structure/vegetation classification, QA report). Add-ons: Map Fusion, georeferencing (GDA2020 / MGA / local grid), 2D floor plan, mesh export (OBJ/OSGB), volume & stockpile reports.

Capture requirements

  • RTK / PPK enabled where absolute coordinates are required (georeferencing, multi-session fusion)
  • Closed-loop walks with overlap between passes for drift control
  • Export formats: LAS, E57 and RCP; mesh (OBJ / OSGB) on request

Need on-site Capture & Processing as one booking, rather than processing-only? We handle both — hire the scanner or book a capture visit, and processing rolls straight into the same job. Looking for a full Scan-to-BIM deliverable instead of a splat or point cloud? That's priced separately by LOD — see the dedicated page.

SERVICE TERMS — SUMMARY

What We Do, and What We Don't

Plain-English summary of the terms every processing job runs under. The full terms sit in your quote / service agreement and our website terms.

01

We process — we don’t capture.

This service is post-processing of capture data you supply. Unless you separately engage us for on-site capture, we are not involved in how the data was collected and take no responsibility for the capture itself.

02

Capture quality is your responsibility.

Reconstruction quality is bounded by input quality. Datasets that don’t meet the capture requirements published on this page (GSD, altitude, overlap, RTK, control points) may produce a reduced-quality or failed result. We can’t recover detail or alignment that wasn’t captured, and any re-capture is at your cost.

03

You get honest feedback on the result.

Every job comes back with brief written feedback on the processed output — and, where a dataset fell short, what limited it and what to change next time. Feedback is our assessment of the result, not a guarantee of a particular outcome.

04

Estimates are indicative; quotes are firm.

The calculator on this page gives a starting-point range only. Your price is confirmed in writing after we’ve reviewed the actual dataset, and work starts on your written acceptance of that quote.

05

Your data stays yours — and stays onshore.

You retain full ownership of your source data and every deliverable. Processing runs on our own equipment in Australia; nothing is sent to an offshore server or third-party cloud processor. We hold working files for a limited period after delivery to support you and re-run if needed, then delete them on request. We never use your data or outputs in marketing or case studies without your written permission.

06

XGRIDS captures only, for now.

The service currently supports XGRIDS Lixel K1, K2, L2 Pro and PortalCam data. Support for other LiDAR and photogrammetry sources will be added over time.

07

Liability is limited to the job.

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any processing job is limited to re-performing the processing or refunding the fee paid for that job. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including project delay or lost revenue — arising from the quality of supplied data or the outcome of a reconstruction.

08

Queensland law applies.

These terms and every processing engagement are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

By sending us a dataset for processing you accept these terms. Nothing here excludes any guarantee or right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

PROCESSING, ANSWERED

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "100% Australian post-processing" actually mean?

Every stage after capture — point cloud registration, 3D Gaussian Splatting reconstruction, and any fusion or enhancement — runs on our own workstation, on Australian soil. Your raw data and finished deliverables never leave the country, and never pass through an offshore server or third-party cloud processor. This matters for government, defence, and critical-infrastructure clients with data residency requirements, and it’s simply good practice for anyone capturing sensitive sites.

How accurate is the online price estimate?

It’s a genuine starting point based on typical job costs at each size and quality tier, not a random number — but it’s still an estimate. Real datasets vary in density, capture quality, and scene complexity, so the final price is confirmed once we’ve actually looked at your data. If you want a locked-in figure before committing, send us a sample and we’ll quote against the real thing.

What’s the difference between Fast, Standard, and Slow processing?

These mirror the quality settings in XGRIDS’ LCC software. Fast produces a lower-fidelity reconstruction quickly — useful for scoping or an early preview. Standard is the balanced default most deliverables use. Slow (High Fidelity) spends the most compute time for maximum reconstruction quality — the setting to choose for final hero deliverables and close-up detail work.

Which scanners does this service support?

Right now the service is for XGRIDS Lixel K1, K2, L2 Pro and PortalCam captures only — that’s the hardware we run natively and can stand behind. Point-cloud processing for other LiDAR and photogrammetry sources is on the roadmap; if you’re working with another platform, register your interest and we’ll let you know when it opens up.

What do I actually receive at the end?

Depending on what you select: a browser-viewable 3D Gaussian Splatting model (.lcc/.lcc2), a survey-ready point cloud (.las/.e57/.rcp), a mesh (.obj/.osgb), or a Scan-to-BIM Revit deliverable — plus, on request, an export or integration set for Unreal, Unity, Cesium, ArcGIS Pro, or NVIDIA Omniverse. Every job also comes with brief written feedback on the processed result — including, if the capture fell short of the requirements, what to change next time.

What if my capture doesn’t meet the requirements?

We’ll still process it and tell you honestly what came out — but reconstruction quality is bounded by capture quality, and we can’t recover detail or alignment that wasn’t captured. Where a dataset falls short (no RTK, missing control points, overlap too low, altitude too high), we’ll flag exactly what limited the result so the next capture is right. Re-capture is at the client’s cost; see the service terms below.

How do I send you a trial dataset?

Submit the trial-dataset form and we’ll email you a secure, Australian-hosted upload link within one business day — no account needed on your side, and the data lands directly with us rather than passing through an offshore file-sharing service. Once uploaded we process it on our workstation and come back with the result and a firm quote.

Can you integrate the output into our own systems?

Yes — for larger or ongoing engagements we scope custom pipeline integration into your internal GIS, asset management, or digital twin systems, rather than a one-off file handover. Mention this when you enquire and we’ll bring the right person into the conversation.
