Common questions
How long do I have to activate my licence?
Your LCC licence must be activated within 180 days of purchase. We strongly recommend activating in Stage 2 straight away — even before your first project — so the window never works against you.
Where is my activation code?
It is printed on the card inside your PortalCam box. Enter it in LCC Studio to activate (a free version is included).
How fast should I walk when scanning?
Under 0.5 m/s, and 0.3 m/s in dim areas, doorways and corners (XGRIDS PortalCam FAQ). The LCC Scan app shows a live speed readout and will prompt you to slow down. Keep at least 0.5 m from surfaces and vary your angle and height for the best 3DGS reconstruction.
Do I have to process on my own PC?
No. You can process locally in LCC Studio (choose Fast / Standard / Slow), or upload the project folder to LCC Cloud for reconstruction — useful if your PC is light on GPU.
How do clients view the final model?
Publish to the browser viewer (WebGL/WebGPU) and share a link — no app install required. You can also export .LCC / .PLY / .OBJ for Unreal, Unity or Apple Vision Pro.
