With over 15 years of hands-on experience spanning ICT systems integration, ISO-aligned HSEQ management, asset management, aerial data capture, and digital construction, Jacob works at the intersection of geospatial technology, digital twins, and compliance systems. Before AECT, he managed regional accounts at Convergint Asia Pacific — a global leading security and building technology systems integrator — across the Asia-Pacific market.
Most projects still rely on 2D drawings to manage a 3D world. That disconnect creates risk, delays, and rework. Jacob founded AECT to close that gap — delivering next-generation field-to-cloud solutions for real projects, not lab demos.

What is new in 2026?
The XGRIDS Lixel L3 launched on 15 September 2026: 5 mm relative accuracy, 2 cm absolute with built-in RTK, three 1/1.3-inch 4K HDR cameras and on-device processing. Australian pre-orders are open through AECT with October delivery, and founder Jacob Lee is taking the first Australian unit on a roadshow to every state and territory. The first L3 in Australia arrived on 19 September 2026; the unboxing and first scan are on the AECT blog, and the national roadshow starts in Sydney on 28 September.
What is 3D Gaussian Splatting and why use it?
3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) is a way of rendering a scene from millions of coloured, semi-transparent 3D points so it looks photorealistic in a browser. Paired with LiDAR it gives you a model that is both measurable and understandable by non-technical stakeholders.
Is my data processed in Australia?
Yes. AECT processes and hosts data onshore in Queensland. Fully local, air-gapped workflows are available for government and infrastructure owners with data-sovereignty requirements.
Can I hire a scanner before buying?
Yes. The Lixel K1, K2, L2 Pro and PortalCam are available to hire and to book online, and Demo-to-Buy hire fees credit toward a purchase. The Lixel L3 is not in the hire fleet for now — see it on the roadshow or book a private demonstration.
